Popeyes NIL Campaign Serves College Football Stars Who Went From Backups to Starters

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen has expanded its wing promotion with a new name, image, and likeness (NIL) campaign that connects fans, food, and rising football talent.

After launching its “Better Wings, Better Mayfield” campaign alongside quarterback Baker Mayfield, Popeyes extended the strategy to college athletes who made the leap from backups in 2024 to starters in 2025.

Each athlete has been assigned a personalized promo code through Popeyes Rewards. Fans who redeem the codes can unlock 12 Wings for $12, while also boosting their athlete’s ranking on a national leaderboard. At the end of the season, the athlete whose code receives the most redemptions will win a catered tailgate celebration for their program.

Participating athletes include:

  • James Peoples, Ohio State University – Code: Peoples12

  • Chris Hilton Jr., Louisiana State University – Code: Hilton12

  • Rae’Mon Mosby, University of Louisville – Code: Mosby12

  • Fredrick Moore, University of Michigan – Code: Moore12

  • Kam Perry, Miami University – Code: Perry12

  • David Eziomume, Clemson University – Code: Eziomume12

  • Earl Little Jr., Florida State University – Code: Little12

  • Dexter Williams II, Kennesaw State University – Code: Williams12

  • Sire Gaines, Boise State University – Code: Gaines12

  • Colton Joseph, Dominion University – Code: Joseph12

The campaign not only helps Popeyes continue its push into NIL marketing but also gives athletes meaningful opportunities to engage with fans while building their personal brands.

By spotlighting players who have earned their way into starting roles, Popeyes blends its “from the bottom to the spotlight” brand story with the journey of athletes who embody grit, growth, and determination.
